and the city as what ron would say "a match made in heaven" because computer engineering is what i call a hybrid between electrical engineering and computer science because it world has many different sectors and you want to be versatile. you don't want to -- well, some of us would prefer to be experts in one field. for example programming or making robots, but i think being versed in both sides of the spectrum tells you tremendously understanding programming, electronics, signal processing, networking, chip design -- i could go on and on, and i think this will give us more opportunities in the area rather than being skilled in one thing. now i'm a senior and i am graduating in the spring, fingers crossed and i couldn't have made a better choice. i think computer engineering was the best choice for me. like i said opportunities are not always readily available. we all get nervous about that. sometimes we need to take charge and take those opportunities so last summer i decided to take it a step further and i applied for probably about 200 different interning opportunities that i sa

. next speaker please. >> hey, ron austin, executive haven't -- workers union, it's been a long day. we're here to say a few words for the record to the board we received correspondence from sf mta for a service reduction on the day before christmas and the week after, and subsequently that week in between new year's and christmas. and we didn't know if the board or the city knew. and this is something that was attempted a couple of weeks back with the thanksgiving week, in which we disapproved because the level of ridership that happens after or before the holiday actually is increased with increased shopping and commerce in the union square area, also with people still have to go to work. we've been kind of forced into the situation where they want to meet and confer over this for us to agree to the service cut and i don't think it follows the tenants of the traffic first quality to keep the level of service per the 1996 levels. also the budget includes funding to have a regular service schedule before and after the holiday. that was passed by this board and approved and we don't know

it forever. >> thank you. thank you. next speaker. >> hi. i am ron and an artist in san francisco. i have been here over 20 years and on and off since i was ten, and there has been a lot of speech about people avoiding the castro, but there hasn't been talk about the people that have chosen to live in the castro and drawn to the castro because of the fabric and character of the city which is an element of that is the nudity. the ban also is too broad. there needs to be a different solution to handle the complaints, so when i have a show in the castro that deals specifically with body image and body shame and human existence there are elements of that show that are going to be limited by a band that is too broad. people including my mother were thrilled when she came to san francisco and saw there were naked people wandering through. i don't think that my mother is that liberal, but every once in a while she sees something like that and it's why she also loves san francisco, so the concerns about it driving people away are being off set by the people that are being drawn to the neighborh

. >> [speaker not understood]. >>> good afternoon, chairman nolan, members of the board. i happened to catch ron owens this morning. he had a discussion about this topic on his radio show and people called in and people said, hey, i'm going to go shop elsewhere. yeah. you might gain a few bucks from the meters on sundays, but you're going to lose a lot of taxpayer money -- sales tax money from people deciding to shop elsewhere. i'm thinking we need to have a color sticker that says operating sundays on the meters because the letters are going to start coming to the editorial pages saying what happened. they didn't know. even though you're going to do outreach, you're still going to have a lot of people who don't know. if you don't do it -- at least have television coverage and radio coverage and big-page ads in the newspapers, you're not going to be able to cover everybody. but the thing is people are going to -- once they get that whopping $75 ticket or whatever, they're going to decide they're not going to shop in san francisco. you're trying to get people to take public transit. they're not g
